About the role
The Senior Road Safety Strategy Officer supports the development and delivery of Victoria’s Road Safety Strategy and Action Plans by using research, data and evidence to inform priorities, investments and policy directions. The role works across the Safe System approach to identify initiatives, evaluate outcomes and support future planning.
The position leads research, evaluation and reporting activities, provides strategic advice, develops policy options and builds strong partnerships across government and road safety stakeholders. It promotes continuous improvement through innovation, evidence-based decision-making and effective collaboration to achieve safer road outcomes.

- Communicates clearly and confidently, providing credible advice and navigating complex or sensitive discussions.
- Promotes a collaborative culture by sharing knowledge, connecting teams and supporting effective delivery.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in a Road Safety or policy related field (mandatory).
- Experience in policy development and program/project management within road safety, public sector policy or public health environments (mandatory).
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with stakeholder management experience and the ability to present complex information clearly (desirable).

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
