About the role 

The Senior Spatial Analyst provides Level 2 technical and operational support for the Department’s Transport Asset Spatial platform, supporting Victoria’s digital engineering and transport asset programs. The role ensures spatial platforms using ESRI ArcGIS and FME are reliable, available and performing effectively.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting incidents, monitoring platform performance, supporting spatial data and integrations, managing users and access, and maintaining system documentation. The role also works with internal teams, stakeholders and external vendors to resolve technical issues and deliver enhancements. It contributes to continuous improvement, data quality, security and governance, ensuring spatial services meet business and stakeholder needs.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Geospatial Information Systems, IT, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience (mandatory), with experience supporting spatial platforms or enterprise applications (mandatory).
  • Hands-on experience with ESRI ArcGIS (Server, Portal and Experience Builder), FME or other ETL/integration tools, SQL and database management, and Python.
  • Knowledge of spatial data management and system integration (mandatory), with exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure and QGIS or other open-source GIS tools (desirable).
