About the role

As a Strategic Advisor, this pivotal role supports the Executive Director to make informed decisions and provide effective advice across the division’s portfolio. You will deliver timely analysis, recommendations, and follow-through on strategic initiatives and complex matters, ensuring outcomes are achieved. This role also contributes to corporate priorities, including change management, strategic planning, business continuity, risk and financial management, and reporting. It is an exciting opportunity to influence divisional strategy, drive key initiatives, and work across multiple functions in a dynamic environment, helping shape effective land management and operational outcomes for Victoria.

In this role, you will lead and oversee a wide range of corporate activities, including performance monitoring, workforce and business planning, financial management, risk, and compliance. You will provide expert advice to senior executives, prepare high-quality briefings and project documents, and drive organisational reforms. The role fosters collaboration across the Division, manages stakeholder engagement, and provides leadership to build an engaged, inclusive, and high-performing team, ensuring the division delivers its strategic priorities effectively.

  • Plans and coordinates tasks to achieve outcomes, guiding others and monitoring progress to ensure delivery.
  • Builds strong relationships at senior levels and acts as a convenor to foster collaboration across teams and departments.
  • Manages complex stakeholder needs and facilitates innovative solutions to resolve competing priorities.

Qualification and Experience


    • Demonstrated experience in delivering, at a senior level, high impact strategic advice for Ministers and senior executives in a range of stakeholder engagement settings
    • Experience navigating complex change management programs and developing new ways of working across diverse teams
    • Experience in managing relationships within a complex and sensitive environment
    • Bachelor’s degree or MBA preferred
