About the role 

The role supports the Senior Manager Surveying Services in delivering government land dealings and the Surveyor-General’s legislated functions. It provides expert land surveying, advice and audit services, ensuring cadastral surveys meet required standards and supporting government projects and land management.

Key responsibilities include conducting complex survey audits and cadastral surveys, providing expert advice on surveying, land tenure and government land dealings, managing survey contractors and government projects, and preparing high-quality reports and specifications. The role also contributes to policy and process improvements, stakeholder relationships, industry representation, and mentoring and developing team members.

• Brings leading cadastral surveying expertise, with comprehensive knowledge of land tenure, government land dealings and cadastral boundary re-establishment.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

• A current Victorian practising Licensed Surveyor registration, with no conditions, limitations or restrictions (mandatory).
• At least eight years’ experience working as a licensed surveyor in Victoria (mandatory).
• Sound knowledge of land surveying practices, equipment, Victorian cadastral and land tenure legislation and policies, along with current and emerging surveying systems, technology and infrastructure (mandatory). 

Pre-employment checks and employment conditions  

Relevant pre-employment screening and reference checks will be required. 

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
