About VHBA  

The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines. 

 

The Opportunity:  

This position will be leading the statutory and strategic town planning functions for helipad flight paths and applying planning overlays to safeguard the uninterrupted operation of hospital helipads. You will also be providing project oversight from business case development, master planning and delivery.

 

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Provide expert advice to both internal and external stakeholders by preparing and presenting comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet submissions, and agency documents on complex planning issues.
  • Lead projects through their full lifecycle to achieve organisational goals, applying planning expertise to deliver high-quality strategic and statutory planning advice.
  • Manage and review the provision of specialist land use planning advice to teams within VHBA and across internal and external portfolio agencies, ensuring consistency and efficiency in land use planning and development proposals. 

 

We are looking for: 

  • Utilize your extensive statutory and strategic planning experience to identify shared issues across stakeholders and foster mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Experience in applying strategic and statutory planning expertise to enhance complex developments of projects and navigate planning pathways.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and the Victorian Planning Provisions.
