Network Design & Integration is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning and is responsible for delivering transport priorities through the development, delivery and maintenance of an integrated pipeline of projects supporting the Major Transport Infrastructure Program, and to plan Victoria’s transport network. We’re focused on outcomes that deliver more choice, connections and confidence in our travel, ensuring the whole transport network works as one to deliver better services and outcomes.
About the Role
As a Senior Transport Modeller, you’ll work with the Victorian Integrated Transport Model (VITM), City Plan and related tools to provide high-quality modelling advice to support long-term transport planning, economic evaluation, and business case development. You’ll contribute to scenario development, model enhancement, and the provision of trusted forecasting advice to teams across the department and beyond.
This role involves working closely with planners, project partners and government stakeholders, supporting decisions that shape the future of Victoria’s transport systems. You’ll contribute to improving methodologies, refining assumptions, and making modelling outputs more accessible and impactful for decision-makers.

Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field such as economics, engineering, mathematics, planning or equivalent.
- Strategic transport modelling practical experience
- Strong coding skills
