About the role
This is a Fixed Term, full-time position until 10/6/2026. 

Valuer-General Victoria is responsible for the return of annual valuations in accordance with the standards set out in the Valuation Best Practice Specifications Guidelines and the requirements of the Valuation of Land Act.  To ensure these outcomes are delivered VGV has an opportunity for a Senior Valuer. The position is predominately to audit and certify Municipal Rating Authority Valuations. The responsibility of the position also includes the provision of providing valuation advice and undertaking valuations as required which may include residential, rural, commercial and industrial properties, as well as in-collaboration with other team members, the provision of ongoing support, sale analysis and advice to rating and taxing valuers and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of annual valuations.

Position accountabilities
The successful candidate is required to audit and certify Municipal Rating Authority Valuations, manage objections and appeals, and provide expert valuation and legal advice to stakeholders. Build strong relationships, resolve complex issues, and contribute to improving valuation policies, practices, and legislation.

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Completion of an appropriate tertiary qualification with Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status and membership with the Australian Property Institute (API).
  • Knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1960 and other relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Valuation Best Practice Specifications Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of government processes and land administration matters.
  • Extensive experience valuing in area of expertise.
  • Driver’s License
