About the role 

This is an Ongoing fulltime position  

This role ensures property valuations for rating and taxation are accurate, consistent and meet legal standards. It audits, certifies and supports valuation projects, provides expert advice and helps resolve objections and disputes. The role works closely with valuers, managers, government bodies and external stakeholders, building strong relationships and guiding best practice. It also supports training, policy development and continuous improvement. Success means reliable valuations delivered on time, informed decision-making and public confidence in a fair, transparent valuation system.

Qualifications and experience 

  • Completion of an appropriate tertiary qualification with Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status and membership with the Australian Property Institute (API) (mandatory). 

  • Knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1960, and other relevant legislation, regulations and standards governing the provision of valuation advice by the Valuer-General (mandatory). 

  • Experience in valuations for Rating Authority Valuations and a variety of government purposes (highly desirable). 

  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of Rating Valuation calculation systems such as VMonline (highly desirable). 

  • Knowledge of the government processes and land administration matters (desirable). 

  • Driver’s License (mandatory)

Relevant pre-employment screening and reference checks will be required. 

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
