The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.
The Opportunity:
The Senior Workplace Relations Specialist is a key leadership role within the People and Capability team at the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA), responsible for leading the strategic and operational management of employee relations (ER) and industrial relations (IR). This role ensures compliance with employment legislation, WorkCover legislation, industrial instruments, and workplace policies while fostering a positive, constructive climate. The position acts as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, manages return to work, employee investigations, administers the internal review of actions process, and resolves complex workplace matters with professionalism, fairness, and integrity, and contributes to a culture of making VHBA a great place to work.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Strategic leadership of employee and industrial relations function across VHBA.
- Case management, return to work and WorkCover management.
- Stakeholder management, internal governance and risk reduction.
We are looking for:
- Expertise in employee relations and deep knowledge of Employment and Industrial Law as well as industrial instruments, and government employment frameworks.
- Proven experience in complex case resolution.
- High-level advisory, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Integrity, resilience and sound judgement.
