Investment and Technology leads and manages the investment lifecycle; drives commercial advice & negotiations to facilitate reform; and enables core delivery through Finance, Procurement & Enterprise Technology.

 

About the role


This is a full time fixed term position until 30 June 2026


The Solution Architect role is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving VTDE’s Enterprise Architecture and core technology platforms, ensuring they are robust, secure, and aligned with DTP’s strategic priorities. Working at the intersection of business and IT, the role leads expert solution architecture and design to ensure technology solutions meet user and business requirements while conforming to enterprise architecture and security frameworks. The role partners closely with Project Managers to support effective delivery and provides technical leadership and guidance to Solution Architects engaged through the blended workforce model.


Position accountabilities
–    Provided leadership and expert advice in cloud architecture and provides recommendations on different offerings.
–    Led solution implementation and manage and deliver integration solutions between vendors.
–    Defined the overall Maximo solution architecture and ensured aligned of Maximo with enterprise architecture standards and VTDE business case.
–    Developed accurate project scopes and cost estimates which provided value for money and best fit for customer needs.
–    Developed, maintained and fostered effective networks and liaisons, with internal technical teams, and other external other stakeholders.

The role demands deep digital and technological expertise to drive coherent enterprise and solution architecture, ensuring technology investments deliver measurable value, manage risk, and support strong commercial outcomes.

Technical Capabilities
Solution Architecture (ARCH) (Level 6)
–    Contributes to the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas.
–    Identifies and evaluates alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability. Determines and documents architecturally significant decisions.
–    Produces specifications of cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers and interfaces, for translation into detailed designs using selected services and products.
–    Supports projects or change initiatives through the preparation of technical plans and application of design principles. Aligns solutions with enterprise and solution architecture standards (including security).

 

Qualifications and experience


 Mandatory 
-Experience in Digital engineering and spatial programs. 
-Prior government experience in delivering a Maximo based solution. 
-Graduate degree and Appropriate professional software accreditations e.g. IBM Maximo professional certifications or equivalent. 

Desirable: 
-Demonstrated success adapting to a fast-paced environment
