About the role
This role provides spatial analysis and mapping services to support land use planning across the department and wider planning sector. It creates high-quality maps and GIS data for print, web and internal use, and offers clear advice to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role works closely with planners, government teams and external partners to support projects and develop mapping solutions. Success in this role ensures accurate, reliable spatial information is available, helping inform planning decisions and supporting better outcomes for communities and development.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
Mandatory
- Experience using the ArcGIS suite of technologies (including but not limited to ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online
Desirable
- A relevant qualification in Spatial, Computer Science or Urban Planning.
- A sound understanding of the Vicmap Foundational datasets
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud
- Proven ability to query, report and analyse data in enterprise databases and create automated workflows and process
Highly Regarded
- Experience working with Avenza MAPublisher.
- Experience working with 3D spatial technologies.
- Experience using Python or FME including the use of scripts to solve spatial problems.
- An understanding of the Planning / Urban Planning domain
