About the role 

This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 May 2027

The Spatial Technology Officer supports the development, implementation and ongoing support of Vicmap systems, data, applications, web services and workflows. The role designs and builds complex spatial technology solutions, provides technical advice and customer support, and manages data publication through platforms such as ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server and Digital Twin Victoria.

 

The role also develops and maintains scripts and programs, resolves technical issues within agreed service levels, supports technology projects and design groups, and ensures solutions meet quality and service standards. It contributes to process improvements, follows good design practices, and performs other duties consistent with the role and capabilities.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent practical experience in geospatial or a related discipline (mandatory).
  • Significant experience with technologies including FME, ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, ArcGIS Online/Server, Python, SQL and Amazon Web Services (mandatory).
  • Experience managing spatial data products and services, with skills in spatial analysis, ETL services and geoprocessing automation (desirable).
