About the role
The Team Leader, Talent and Mobility provides expert advice to business stakeholders on a range of talent and recruitment strategies and processes.
The role leads a team of talent and mobility specialists and is responsible for coordinating the delivery of best practice, timely and efficient recruitment services that support delivery of the department’s workforce strategy and ensure a positive candidate experience.
The Team Leader Talent and Mobility also contributes to or leads specific programs, services or strategic initiatives and works collaboratively across the People and Culture division to support efficient and interconnected service delivery.

Position accountabilities
We're looking for a pragmatic people leader to lead our Talent & Mobility advisors and drive timely, high-quality operational recruitment outcomes across the department.
In this role, you will:
- Provide expert advice on sourcing strategy, oversee end-to-end recruitment delivery, and ensure hiring managers and candidates experience a professional, efficient, and fair process.
- Balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership driving timely, compliant and effective hiring outcomes.
- Manage and develop a team of recruitment specialists, solve complex challenges, streamline processes, and contribute to key People & Culture initiatives.

Qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated people and operational leadership experience in a similar role, in a large, complex organisational setting, preferable a public sector environment. (mandatory)
- High level understanding of and demonstrated experience in VPS recruitment systems, processes and policies. (desirable)
- Technical and working knowledge of SAP Success Factors. (desirable)
