About the role

The Test Analyst ensures high-quality software delivery by designing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks that validate functionality, performance, security, and usability. The role is accountable for embedding quality into every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), accelerating delivery through automation, and enabling continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Position accountabilities

DTP is seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer to enhance quality assurance across critical digital platforms. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated testing frameworks spanning UI, API, and integration layers, and embedding automated validation within CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.

 

Working closely with developers, DevOps specialists, and product teams, you will champion a shift-left testing approach to prevent defects and improve delivery speed. The role requires demonstrated capability in executing functional, regression, performance, and security testing to ensure system stability, compliance, and end-to-end business integrity across interconnected systems and services.

 

You will analyse production issues and testing insights to uplift platform resilience, drive continuous improvement, and support informed release decisions. Success in this role includes providing clear visibility of quality metrics and release readiness to technical and business stakeholders, and contributing to the maturity of testing practices across the organisation.

Qualifications and experience

- Relevant tertiary or equivalent industry qualification in information management, computer science or a related field (Mandatory) 

- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing automated testing solutions within complex enterprise or regulated environments (e.g., government or large private sector), with a proven record of improving quality outcomes and delivery velocity. (Mandatory) Test Analyst Page 2 V1 2025 

- Strong experience in Agile and DevOps delivery models, including active participation in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and embedding shift-left quality practices. (Mandatory) 

- Hands-on expertise in automation tools and testing frameworks across UI, API, and integration layers, applicable to enterprise platforms such as Pega, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Azure, and AWS. (Mandotory) 

- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as C#, Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell for test automation development, data manipulation, and tool integration. (Mandatory) 

- Experience with non-functional testing, including performance, security, accessibility, and reliability testing, preferably integrated into CI/CD pipelines. (Mandatory) 

- Knowledge of test data management, environment configuration, and test orchestration within cloud and SaaS-based environments. (Mandatory) 

- Experience using delivery management and IT service management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for managing test artefacts, traceability, and release workflows. (Mandatory)
