About the role

Job Location: 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne

The Data & Digital division provides the department with operational excellence for data and digital enabled services and project execution for large scale design and uplift initiatives.  This role sits within the Spatial Services and Planning Solutions branch of Data & Digital and is responsible for the planning, management and execution of testing activities for planning digital solutions for the state of Victoria.  

The Test Analyst operates within an Agile delivery environment, collaborating closely with scrum team members, business stakeholders, vendors, and other relevant third parties to ensure the successful delivery of system, integration, and user acceptance testing across supported business applications. The role is responsible for designing and documenting test cases, executing both manual and automated tests, monitoring and reporting testing activities, and promoting a quality-first mindset throughout all stages of the delivery lifecycle. This includes supporting testing activities for both existing production applications and the implementation of new systems, platforms, and technology solutions.

You’re someone who:

  • Enjoys delivering quality digital solutions and working within Agile teams to support successful project outcomes.
  • Can plan, coordinate and execute testing activities, including test design, automation, defect management, and reporting.
  • Identifies and manages quality risks, ensuring issues are addressed early and solutions are reliable, stable, and fit for purpose.
  • Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to drive collaboration and shared success.
  • Drives continuous improvement, using data, systems thinking, and innovation to enhance testing practices and team performance.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • Tertiary qualification or proven extensive experience in manual and automation testing (mandatory) 
  • Experience working in agile software delivery environments (mandatory)
  • Experience working with AWS cloud and related services (mandatory)
  • Experience working with project and testing tracking tools such as Confluence, JIRA, Zephyr, Miro (desirable).
