About the role
This is a Full TIME FIXED TERM position until 30/06/2026
Reporting to the Program Manager, this role is responsible for defining test plans and executing testing for the different verticals of testing Dynamics, digital and functional testing; including User Acceptance Testing. Managing test team members, they are responsible for resource planning and the management, and execution of testing to assure the quality of deliverables for business stakeholders.

We are seeking a Test Lead with strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills to manage defect processes and drive informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership in collaboration, resilience under pressure, and a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement within a public service environment.
Position accountabilities
– Develop and maintain detailed test plans, effectively communicate progress, and collaborate with business representatives to agree on testing results.
– Collaborate seamlessly with testers, business stakeholders, vendors, and third parties to guarantee the successful completion of system, integration, and acceptance testing.
– Take the lead in developing testing requirements and scenarios, ensuring alignment with the overarching project goals and objectives.
– Proactively identify gaps and associated risks and collaborate with the project team to address them effectively.
– Document, plan, and actively participate in test execution, leveraging automation for test suites wherever possible.
– Manage the defect management process by coordinating with business stakeholders, vendor teams, and relevant SMEs to log, triage, validate, and close defects.
– Provide leadership and effective people management, fostering high levels of engagement, cohesion, and commitment among team members to ensure the timely delivery of required services.
– Produce relevant test reports, including Test Execution, Defect & Test Summary, to keep stakeholders informed.
– Establish and manage comprehensive test environments, ensuring systematic preparation of test data for various testing phases.
Technical capabilities
– Testing (TEST) (Level 6)
- Develops organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for testing.
- Plans and leads strategic, large and complex testing activities. Leads activities to manage risks and opportunities associated with testing.
- Adapts or develops organisational testing capabilities and methods to solve complex business and engineering problems in tools and testing.
- Promotes a culture of quality
Qualifications and experience
– Experience in Digital engineering and spatial programs (Mandatory).
– Testing experience in waterfall, agile and hybrid projects (Mandatory).
– Tools – TestRail, JIRA (Mandatory).
– Prior government experience (Desirable)
– Demonstrated success adapting to a fast-paced environment (Desirable)
– Automation capability (Desirable)
