About the role 

This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2027

The Training Manager leads training and capability development for the Victorian Transport Digital Engineering (VTDE) Program, supporting a broad Victorian Transport stakeholder group. The role works closely with program leaders, change and technical teams to build workforce capability and support the adoption of digital engineering technologies.

The role develops training strategies, identifies capability gaps, manages training programs and oversees learning materials and resources. It also monitors participation and outcomes, provides advice to stakeholders, adapts learning approaches to changing needs, and builds strong relationships to support organisational readiness and successful program delivery.

You’re someone who: 

  • Translates training strategies into effective plans and programs, with clear governance, measures and processes to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Has strong digital and technology literacy, supporting others to adopt and use new tools and technologies effectively.
  • Builds and manages strong stakeholder relationships, navigating complex and competing needs to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, using active listening, consultation and sound judgement to resolve issues.
  • Is flexible and adaptable, embracing new approaches and adjusting strategies to respond to changing priorities and improve outcomes.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • List Experience applying training development processes, techniques and tools to identify learning needs and improve user capability.
  • A relevant degree or vocational qualification, with experience in a relevant training role highly desirable.
  • A Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or equivalent, with relevant depth and breadth of experience highly desirable.
