About the role
*This is a Fixed Term Contract until the 30/06/2026*
As the Technical Lead you will be responsible for developing and implementing the VTDE’s Enterprise Architecture, as well as maintaining and enhancing core technology platforms. Acting as a critical link between business units and IT, the role ensures that solutions are designed to meet business needs while aligning with enterprise architecture, strategic priorities, and security frameworks.
You will define and oversee solution architecture and design for Maximo and related systems, translating complex business requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions. Working in partnership with Project Managers, you will ensure the effective delivery of technology initiatives that drive value for money and deliver long-term sustainability.
As a senior leader, you’ll provide expert guidance to Solution Architects engaged through the blended workforce model, lead design workshops across multiple vendors, and foster collaboration across government and industry. The role requires critical thinking, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to influence outcomes at senior levels.

Position accountabilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and evolution of the VTDE’s Enterprise Architecture in alignment with DTP’s strategic objectives.
- Define, deliver, and maintain Maximo solution architecture, including data models, workflows, and business processes that optimise asset management.
- Provide authoritative advice on cloud architecture, industry standards, protocols, and best practice to ensure scalable, secure, and sustainable solutions.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and manage integration across multiple vendors and platforms.
- Oversee project scoping, roadmapping, and cost estimation to ensure solutions deliver value for money and align with business cases.
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure effective delivery of technology solutions and seamless alignment with enterprise architecture and security frameworks.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to Solution Architects and technical staff, fostering collaboration and building capability.
- Build and maintain strong networks across internal teams, external stakeholders, and government to ensure coherence in IT strategy and delivery.
Qualifications and experience
Mandatory
- Experience in Digital engineering and spatial programs.
- Prior government experience in delivering a Maximo based solution.
- Graduate degree and Appropriate professional software accreditations e.g. IBM Maximo professional certifications or equivalent.
Desirable
- Demonstrated success adapting to a fast-paced environment.
