About the Role

Under the general direction of the Team Leader, Demerit Points and Offence Management, assist with the management and administration of the Demerit Point Scheme and licencing and registration offences through accurate data processing. This role investigates, evaluates and resolves customer and stakeholder transactions, enquiries and complaints in accordance with established policies and procedures. The role also provides advice and guidance whilst maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Demerit Point and Offence Management Officer will participate in team activities, support change initiatives and ensure data compliance and the privacy of sensitive and personal information is maintained by operating within established business rules and in line with relevant legislation.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities

  • Under general supervision, accurately process, investigate and resolve registration and licensing transactions, draft correspondence, provide advice and maintain data and information to assist in decisions in accordance with legislative requirements, established polices and business rules. Escalate identified issues to supervisor as appropriate  
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with customers and stakeholders to progress issues through understating of relevant systems, work procedures and business rules in accordance with legislative requirements and established policies
  • Adapt to change and support innovation and business improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and customer service outcomes 
  • Work collaboratively as an effective team member and participating in activities and assist others to meet team objectives and performance targets. 
  • Ensure data integrity and the privacy of personal information is maintained by operating within established business rules and in line with relevant legislation  

 

Key Selection Criteria

The DTP is seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable professional to provide accurate information and responsive correspondence across multiple channels. In this role, you will build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, contribute effectively as part of a team, and support innovation and continuous improvement. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data quality and integrity are essential.

All new appointments to the department will be subject to a National Criminal Records Check, Misconduct Screening, and a Qualification Check where there is a requirement for a mandatory qualification.
