Transport Services is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for delivering safe, reliable and accessible transport infrastructure and services to all Victorians.
About the Role
Reporting to the Team Leader, Driver Relicensing Services (DRS), this role supports the management and administration of DRS licensing offences. The position involves investigating and resolving customer and stakeholder inquiries, transactions, and complaints, in line with established policies and procedures, while providing expert advice and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Complex issues will be escalated to the supervisor as needed. The DRS Officer will actively participate in team activities, contribute to change initiatives, and ensure that DTP systems contain accurate and up-to-date customer data.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
- Effectively resolve customer enquiries and complaints and process Driver Relicensing transactions in accordance with legislative requirements, established policy and business rules, in a professional, courteous and timely manner
- Provide Driver Relicensing technical advice and information to the public and stakeholders through interpretation and application of established licensing guidelines, business rules and in line with relevant legislation.
- Proactively suggest improvements to customer service delivery using appropriate methods. Support changes to policies and processes
- Work collaboratively as an effective team member to achieve key team and individual performance targets, supporting and participating in team activities and assisting to meet team objectives
- Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant systems, legislation, work procedures and business rules in accordance with legislative requirements, established polices and business rules
- Ensure data integrity and the privacy of personal information is maintained by operating within established business rules and in line with relevant legislation
In line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic) other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities
Key Selection Criteria –
The ideal candidate will be skilled in resolving driver relicensing issues by interpreting and applying established guidelines and processes in line with policies and procedures. They will provide accurate advice and information on driver relicensing matters and exercise sound judgment in addressing difficult customer inquiries. The candidate will build and maintain positive relationships with customers and stakeholders to support work activities and offer suggestions for improving work methods based on customer and stakeholder needs. They will also contribute effectively as a team member, collaborating to achieve objectives and enhance service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
Desirable
- A current and valid driver licence free of convictions for a period of time specified in the relevant legislation.
