About the role

The Driver Relicensing Services (DRS) Officer supports the effective delivery of key licensing programs, including Alcohol Interlock, Behaviour Change, Safe Driving, and heavy vehicle and motorcycle licensing schemes. Working under the direction of the Team Leader, the role assists in managing and administering licensing offences, investigating and resolving customer enquiries, transactions and complaints in line with established policies and procedures. The position provides specialist advice to stakeholders, maintains strong internal and external relationships, and escalates complex matters when required. The DRS Officer also contributes to team initiatives, supports change activities, and ensures that all DTP systems contain accurate and up-to-date customer information.

Position accountabilities

  • Resolve customer enquiries, complaints and Driver Relicensing transactions professionally and in line with legislation, policy and business rules.
  • Provide accurate technical advice by interpreting and applying licensing guidelines, legislation and business rules for the public and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to service improvements by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and supporting policy or procedural changes.
  • Work collaboratively to meet team and individual performance targets, actively participating in team activities and shared objectives

Qualifications and experience

  • A current and valid driver license free of convictions for a period of time specified in the relevant legislation.
  • Experience relative to the capabilities of the role.
