About the Role

 

Fixed Term Full Time Until 31st of March 2026 


The Finance Business Partner position is responsible for undertaking a range of finance business partnering activities including financial budget and forecasting development, actual financial performance monitoring, analysis and reporting, and project/program financial management. In providing these services the position is to exercise professional judgement and provides sound advice, guidance and support to assist internal clients in their decision making and business performance. The position requires the incumbent to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal clients and apply professional judgement and well-developed communication skills in providing insight and advising on financial management issues to the clients.

We are looking for a finance professional with strong business partnering experience to support budgeting, forecasting, financial performance analysis, and project financial management. The ideal candidate will offer strategic advice to internal clients, communicate complex financial information effectively, and build strong relationships to influence decision-making and ensure compliance with departmental policies. 


Position Outcomes / Accountabilities 

 

• Exercise professional judgement in undertaking a range of financial business partnering activities including budget and forecast development, actual financial performance monitoring, analysis and reporting, and project/program financial management.
• Provide sound advice, guidance and support to internal clients relating to financial business partnering services and ensure internal client compliance with Department financial policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal clients and inform, advise and influence clients in understanding financial matters and outcomes which affect their decision making and business performance.
• Apply written and oral communications skills and exercise professional judgement to provide insight into financial business partnering related policies procedures and services provided.
• Apply a hands-on approach to preparing and coordinating reports and other explanatory material for consideration by internal clients in respect of services provided.
• Apply problem-solving skills to respond to financial management issues where defined policies and procedures do not always exist.


Qualifications and Experience

 

Desirable
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant or related discipline
• Relevant Finance or Accounting degree which includes all foundation requirements for entry into CPA/CA Program
• Membership of CPA or CA
