About the Role

The Medical Review Officer will review and process Medical Review cases, making fitness to drive decisions in accordance with legislative requirements, guidelines, established policies, business rules, and work instructions.

Position Outcomes

  • Review and resolve Medical Review cases, making fitness to drive decisions in accordance with legislative requirements, established policies, business rules, and work instructions in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Understand and accurately assess health information, communication and correspondence received from customers and stakeholders and provide accurate advice and information in relation to guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Contact customers and schedule on road driving tests appointments within Victoria for colleagues that work remotely and ensure that all driving test outcomes are updated accurately. You must have the ability to schedule appointments efficiently for remote workers that travel the state, including language interpreters if required and accommodation for long distance travel.
  • Prepare accurate and easy to understand correspondence to customers and stakeholders.
  • Proactively support change and suggest improvements to process and customer service delivery using appropriate methods. 

 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA - The Medical Review Officer will apply critical thinking to resolve problems using policy guidelines and will offer relevant ideas when guidance is needed. They will communicate clearly and professionally, staying aware of how their emotions and behaviour impact others. Information will be presented logically and tailored to the audience. With a strong customer focus, they will identify service improvements and strive for high-quality outcomes. The officer will remain adaptable to changing priorities and open to new ways of working, while building trust and collaborating effectively with colleagues and external partners to achieve shared goals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Mandatory

  • A current and valid driver licence free of convictions for a period of time specified in the relevant legislation.
  • Experience relevant to the capabilities of the role.
