About the role
This is an ongoing position,
The Medical Review Officer assesses and processes medical review cases to make fitness to drive decisions in line with legislation, policies, and established guidelines. The role manages medical review driving test bookings across Victoria and provides specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders, delivering high-quality customer service while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and privacy of information.
Position accountabilities
The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking a Medical Review Officer. The role is responsible for professional judgement in reviewing and resolving Medical Review cases, making fitness to drive decisions in line with legislative requirements, policies, business rules, and work instructions. It requires the ability to assess complex health information and correspondence, provide clear specialist advice, and prepare high-quality, easy-to-understand communications for customers and stakeholders. The role coordinates and schedules on-road driving test appointments across Victoria for remotely based colleagues, including managing logistics such as travel, interpreters, and long-distance arrangements, are accurately recorded in departmental systems.

Qualifications and experience
Mandatory:
-If a driver licence is held, it must be current and valid, free of serious driving convictions for a period specified in the relevant regulations.
