About the Group
People, Legal and Governance provides business-enabling people, legal, and corporate services functions to drive a high-performance culture and support integrated operations across the department. The Payroll Operations team delivers expert payroll services across the Transport portfolio, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with all legislative and policy requirements.
Role Overview
The Payroll Operations Advisor is responsible for end-to-end processing of the fortnightly pay cycle, including superannuation, payroll tax, and additional ad hoc payments. You will provide high-level payroll expertise, offering advice on pay, leave, and entitlements in accordance with VPS agreements and departmental policies. Success in this role relies on the ability to solve complex payroll issues, support continuous improvement initiatives, and communicates effectively to ensure accurate and timely payroll outcomes.

Key Accountabilities
- Contributing payroll expertise to complex projects
- Providing advice on payroll policies and processes
- Investigating payroll issues and recommending solutions
- Performing advanced payroll and technical work independently
Qualifications and Experience
Prior experience with SAP SuccessFactors or other HR platforms is desirable, as is a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with an intermediate to advanced knowledge in Excel.
