About the role
The Roadside Officer supports routine roadside maintenance across eastern Victoria under VRMC contracts. The role assists with planning, scheduling, coordination and monitoring of maintenance activities to ensure works are delivered efficiently, safely and to required standards.
The role supports contractor performance monitoring, compliance and reporting, while working with internal teams, contractors and local councils to resolve issues. It also contributes to identifying improvements, analysing program outcomes and managing risks, with all activities undertaken in line with legislative, safety and environmental requirements and consideration of community impacts.

You’re someone who:

- Uses sound judgement and problem-solving skills to interpret guidelines, assess information, resolve day-to-day issues and escalate complex matters when needed.
- Plans and coordinates work effectively, meeting deadlines, monitoring progress, following up actions and raising emerging issues early.
- Works collaboratively and adapts to change, contributing to a positive team environment, sharing information and responding constructively to changing priorities.
- Understands organisational and commercial priorities, working within public sector values, legislation, contracts and value-for-money principles.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- A current Victorian driver’s licence with no restrictions that would prevent you from performing the key requirements of the role, unless the Department can reasonably accommodate those restrictions (mandatory).
Pre-employment checks and employment conditions
Relevant pre-employment screening and reference checks will be required.
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
