About the role

The Senior Advisor Network Resilience provides expert technical and operational analysis to support evidence-based decision-making and inform executive and ministerial reporting on network performance and disruptions. The role monitors network conditions during both normal operations and incidents, contributing insights that improve safety, efficiency, and customer outcomes. It plays a key role in post-incident reviews by identifying trends, root causes, and lessons learned to strengthen long-term resilience and response capability. The position also provides technical assurance for planned disruptions by reviewing traffic management, detour strategies, and mitigation plans to minimise impact on the network and community. In addition, it supports programs such as Signal Network Optimisation through data analysis and performance insights, while engaging with key stakeholders and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall network management and operational effectiveness.

You're someone who has:

  • advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills, able to assess issues from multiple perspectives, identify root causes and recurring problems, and implement practical, effective solutions that improve business outcomes
  • strong influence and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop and deliver clear strategies to build buy-in and effectively engage a range of stakeholders
  • systems thinking capability, understanding broader organisational impacts and interdependencies and ensuring solutions are well integrated across programs, services and networks
  • a strong outcomes focus and resilience, able to connect team activities to organisational and community impact, provide clear and confident advice, and remain effective under pressure while managing competing priorities

Qualifications and experience 

You'll bring:

  • a tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, transportation or related discipline or relevant traffic engineering experience.
  • awareness of traffic and civil engineering principles
  • 3+ years analytical & reporting experience.
