About the Role
Job Location: Ringwood, Melbourne
Reporting to the Manager Assurance and Compliance Third Party Provider Services, the Senior Compliance Officer leads the development and implementation of risk-based compliance programs, provides professional independent judgement during compliance activities to identify issues in support of service providers operating under DTP’s Heavy Vehicle and Motorcycle Licensing Programs along with the Behaviour Change Program, and prepares supporting detailed reports for internal and external audiences.
This role is able to assess and present advice to Program owners, senior leaders, and external industry stakeholders regarding information security, risk and compliance matters and demonstrate awareness of standards, legislation, regulations and other policies or guidelines.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
- Development and implementation of compliance programs that support the mitigation of Program risks
- Lead and motivate a team of Compliance Officers to deliver quality compliance and reporting outcomes for Scheme owners and providers
- Ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development of team members to drive a quality and achievement based culture
- Proactive engagement and relationship building with Program owners and providers to achieve positive compliance results
- Role modelling and fostering an inclusive, innovative and positive culture
Key Selection Criteria
The DTP is seeking a strategic and analytical professional with strong risk-based problem-solving skills to identify emerging industry issues and deliver effective, compliant outcomes in complex environments. The role requires demonstrated expertise in risk management, compliance frameworks, data security and regulatory interpretation, alongside the ability to lead risk-based planning, research and program delivery within tight timeframes. Strong written communication skills are essential to produce clear, high-quality reports for senior leaders and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- A formal qualification in Commerce, Risk, or Business would be considered beneficial or proven relevant audit / compliance assurance related service and leadership experience
- Current and valid driver’s licence
