The Senior Solution Architect leads the architecture, design and governance of complex technology initiatives across DTP. The role provides strategic advice across cloud, identity and access management, enterprise applications and technology modernisation, translating business needs into secure, scalable and sustainable solutions aligned with enterprise standards and government requirements.

The role leads solution design and architecture reviews, manages technical risks and provides oversight throughout delivery. It builds strong relationships with senior stakeholders, vendors and project teams, explains complex technical issues clearly, supports technology investment and modernisation decisions, and drives consistent architecture practices. The role also mentors technical teams and improves architecture standards, frameworks and capability

You’re someone who: 

  • Leads complex solution architecture, translating business needs into secure, scalable and sustainable technology solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Thinks critically and systemically, identifying risks, dependencies and broader impacts to develop practical, integrated solutions.
  • Builds strong stakeholder relationships, influencing decisions and communicating complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Drives successful project delivery, providing architecture leadership, governance, assurance and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Is outcomes-focused and resilient, maintaining a clear focus on organisational and community impact while encouraging open discussion, persistence and constructive challenge.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent, with certification or experience in architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or SAFe. (mandatory)
  • Experience providing technical leadership for corporate transformation projects within a public sector organisation. (mandatory)
  • AWS or Azure Cloud certification and knowledge of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, ASD Essential 8 or VPDSF.
