About the role 

This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2027

The Senior Transport Planning Studies Lead will lead the North-East Link Complementary Works Planning Study, investigating transport network upgrades to support safe and efficient travel and maximise the project’s benefits. The role will manage all aspects of the study, including directing external consultants, leading stakeholder engagement, overseeing program management and reporting, and collaborating with key internal stakeholders across the Department and the North East Link Project Team.

 

The role also supports the broader Network Strategy group by assisting in the management of strategic relationships with councils, representing regional strategic interests in major land use changes and infrastructure projects, contributing to future transport investment priorities, and supporting broader strategic planning activities across the study area. It requires strong project management, communication, problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex transport data, manage sensitive issues, and provide timely, high-quality advice.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, project management or a related field would be highly regarded.
  • Experience relevant to the accountabilities and capabilities of the role.
