About the role
The Senior Vehicle Safety Officer resolves complex technical matters relating to vehicle standards, safety and registration compliance. The role provides expert advice to customers, authorised partners and stakeholders, and supports the administration and oversight of vehicle safety and certification schemes.
The role uses independent technical judgement to assess applicants and partners, investigate non-compliance, malpractice and fraud, and recommend improvements. It researches emerging automotive technologies to inform policy, conducts investigations and prepares professional briefs and statements, including supporting prosecutions where required. The role also develops training and educational materials to build understanding of vehicle safety requirements among customers, partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- Appropriate technical or trade certificate/qualification and/or experience relevant to the requirements of the role (mandatory).
- Customer service experience in a fast-paced professional environment (desirable).
- A personable customer-facing manner and strong written and verbal skills (desirable).
