About this position
Position purpose and context
The Road Delivery Lead is responsible for the delivery of road maintenance (routine, periodic and rehabilitation) of freeways and arterial roads, and assist with the preparation of high quality project approvals in accordance with corporate guidelines. This role will support the Victorian Road Maintenance Contract (VRMC), and focus on the delivery of rehab, resurface and routine job across the state.
Position accountabilities
- Perform duties under broad supervision while applying sound professional judgement, particularly in areas affecting pavement performance, road maintenance, and project delivery.
- Exercise independent judgement in scheduling and prioritising work activities to meet project milestones and ensure quality outcomes, including during pre-construction, construction, and contract administration phases.
- Apply relevant policies, procedures, and quality management principles in decision-making processes, ensuring compliance and best practice in road infrastructure delivery
- Communicate clearly and concisely with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to gather, share, and clarify project-related information. Uphold human rights principles in all interactions and decision-making processes
- Use strong negotiation and influencing skills to gain stakeholder buy-in and resolve issues effectively, supporting project and business objectives.
- Positively contribute to a collaborative team environment that fosters innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate and manage projects within defined scopes, applying structured approaches to monitor progress, risks, and resource allocation.
- Contribute to the development of high-quality technical documents, reports, and briefing papers that support decision-making and deliver measurable business improvements.

Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
- Tertiary qualification and relevant experience in a relevant or a related discipline
Desirable
- Experience within the road/pavement asset management or construction/road infrastructure maintenance field.

- Ordinary Hours of Work – This position will be required to undertake site visit of various locations across Victoria of which may include overnight stay.

Ordinary hours of work are Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 7:00pm.
