Network Design and Integration is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for delivering transport priorities through the planning, development, delivery and operationalising of an integrated pipeline of road and rail projects supporting the Major Transport Infrastructure Program and to shape shaping Victoria’s transport network.
Road Safety Victoria is a Division in the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for leading the Victorian Government to achieve zero road fatalities by 2050.

About the Role
The Senior Project Officer role sits within the Road Safety Strategy and Systems directorate in Road Safety Victoria, and forms part of a small team responsible for administering the Motorcycle Safety Levy (MSL) Program. This role plays a key part in supporting motorcycling safety efforts in Victoria through the effective delivery of a range of projects funded through the Victorian Motorcycle Safety Levy.
The Senior Project Officer will apply sound project management practices to support the effective planning, development and delivery of Motorcycle Safety Levy-funded road safety projects. Succes in this role requires an individual who will utilise their exceptional project and stakeholder management skills to ensure that projects are effectively planned and managed in line with key organisational and governance frameworks.

Position Outcomes /Accountabilities
The individual will lead the delivery of various motorcycling safety projects through collaborative efforts with stakeholders across DTP, the Road Safety Partnership and other key stakeholders. The successful candidate will cultivate strong stakeholder relationships to support decision-making and help achieve positive road safety outcomes for the community. The indivdual will apply sound project management principles and existing organisational frameworks to deliver projects in line with DTP requirements. The individual will prepare timely and high quality reports and provide authoritative advice on emerging and complex issues such as project development and delivery, strong relationships, high quality reporting , specialist and high quality advices and promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.
Key Selection Criteria
In this dynamic role, you’ll lead the delivery of strategic projects that support key transport and planning outcomes for Victoria. You will play a critical role in translating strategies into action by defining governance structures, managing risk and ensuring timely delivery. Success in this role requires strong project management capabilities, with the ability to navigate complex political and organisational environments. You'll apply financial and procurement insights to drive value through robust business cases and service agreements. Your analytical skills will be essential in solving problems, identifying process improvements and delivering real outcomes that align with broader business priorities.
You’ll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, building productive partnerships based on trust and shared goals. Your ability to understand diverse perspectives and manage competing interests will be key to driving collaboration and achieving success.

Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in program or project management in a relevant field, such as road safety, public sector policy or public health.
Desirable
- Experience in the development and delivery of road safety infrastructure projects is desirable but not essential.
