About the Role

Job Location: Sunshine, Melbourne

In this role, you will monitor and check road maintenance works to ensure they are safe, high quality, and meet required standards. You will work closely with contractors, colleagues, and other stakeholders, building strong relationships and supporting collaboration. You will share knowledge with your team and contribute to a positive team culture. Your work helps keep the road network safe and reliable for the public. Success in this role means consistent, well-managed maintenance activities, improved safety outcomes, and confidence that works are completed to the expected standards.

 

What we’re looking for (Selection Criteria) 

You’re someone who: 

  • Enjoys working on road maintenance and checking that work is done safely and to the right standards.
  • Can monitor, review, and audit maintenance activities to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Has knowledge of road maintenance requirements, including safety, traffic, and environmental standards
  •  Uses systems and tools to record, track, and support maintenance and inspection activities.
  • Works well with others, shares knowledge, and is willing to learn and improve.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • Experience in road maintenance. (Mandatory)
  • Technical skill in a wide range of areas including standards, specifications, Road Management Act requirements, traffic management and safety. (Mandatory)
  • Competency using system-based applications on a tablet or similar. (Desirable)
  • Experience in field inspection or quality assurance activities. (Desirable)
