About the Role
This is a Fixed Term Opportunity until 16th of April 2027
Job Location: Melbourne CBD, Traralgon or Leongatha, Eastern Victoria
The Planning Support Officer helps deliver the Minister for Planning’s responsibilities by supporting assessments of planning scheme amendments and land use planning matters. They prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence, and contribute to planning projects and process improvements. The role works closely with internal teams, government agencies, local councils, industry, and the community, building strong relationships and supporting decision-making. Success in this role improves the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of planning services, supports better outcomes for communities, and helps ensure planning processes are fair, well-managed, and culturally safe.

- Has a customer-focused mindset and a basic understanding of statutory planning, supporting tasks while learning and improving.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- Strong administration and IT skills together with experience in, and knowledge of statutory and strategic land use planning within a regional and/or metropolitan planning context in Victoria (mandatory)
- A relevant qualification in planning or related field (desirable)
