This is an ongoing VPS4 role based in Traralgon. This role will be required to be on site in our Traralgon office.

 

As a Scoping and Development Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in shaping road and transport infrastructure projects for implementation across Gippsland. Working in a multidisciplinary team, you’ll be supported to lead the development and preconstruction planning of transport initiatives to ensure projects are scoped, designed and costed in readiness for delivery.

 

Projects range in value from $1 million to $25 million and include:

  • Bridge replacement and strengthening
  • Intersection upgrades (roundabouts, traffic signals)
  • Overtaking lanes
  • Pedestrian and cycling improvements
  • Road safety works (barriers, shoulder sealing, hazard removal)
  • Asset management (landslips, drainage, pavement rehabilitation)

 

You’ll collaborate with expert engineers, consultants, and contractors to resolve challenging problems, whilst also ensuring they align with community needs and government priorities.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in engineering, project management, or a related discipline
  • Experience in the scoping and development phase of road or civil infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of infrastructure planning, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder engagement processes
  • Strong communication, risk identification, and coordination skills
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative, solutions-focused environment
  • A current Victorian driver licence (some regional travel is required)
