About the Role
This is an ongoing VPS 4 position based in Traralgon. 3 x days minimum is required to be successful in this role.

As a Sustainability and Environment Officer in Gippsland, you’ll work at the front line of sustainable transport delivery, helping to embed environmental best practice into a diverse pipeline of infrastructure projects. You'll provide expert advice across planning and development, assessment and compliance, support project teams with practical strategies, and work closely with contractors, consultants and regulators to achieve strong environmental outcomes.
This isn’t just a desk job. You’ll be hands-on—conducting site inspections, working with a broad range of professionals and teams, contributing to decision-making that affects the region, and ensuring we meet both legislative obligations and community expectations.

What we’re looking for
· Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, environmental management, or a related discipline
· Sound knowledge of Victorian environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks
· 3-5 Years Experience in environmental planning, assessment or compliance, ideally in infrastructure or construction.
· Ability to analyse technical environmental matters and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
· A current Victorian driver licence (travel across the region is required)
