About the role 

There are two ongoing positions available. Location: Warrnambool /Geelong or Ballarat.

The Project Lead is responsible for delivering road infrastructure projects safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. Reporting to the Senior Delivery Engineer, Regional Projects, the role provides expertise across project planning, design, procurement, contract management, stakeholder engagement, financial management, and project delivery while supporting the Department’s strategic objectives.

The role works closely with project teams, councils, utility providers, contractors, and government agencies to monitor progress and ensure successful project outcomes. Key responsibilities include maintaining project plans and documentation, managing risks and compliance, providing accurate project reporting, responding to project queries, and ensuring effective delivery across cost, time, quality, and stakeholder management requirements.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • Experience managing the delivery of infrastructure projects (mandatory).
  • A relevant bachelors degree in engineering, project management, or equivalent industry experience. (mandatory)
  • A valid driver licence, with flexibility to undertake shift work and occasional evening, weekend, and overnight travel as required.
