SprayLine Road Services (SRS) is a commercialised branch within the Network Operations Division of the Department of Transport and Planning providing road maintenance services, construction and associated civil works, bituminous spray sealing and line marking to DTP, other state road authorities, municipal councils, and private industry. SRS delivers services locally within the communities and is committed to ensuring quality, innovative and sustainable outcomes. SRS performs a key role as an internal provider to DTP, providing emergency response, maintaining organisational capability and supporting DTP in being an informed purchaser.

About the Role
This is a Fixed Term Position until 31 December 2025
The Works Supervisor - Bridge will lead a crew of road workers delivering road maintenance and civil construction activities including network inspections and hazard and defect rectification works. You will supervise the use of a range of different equipment in line with approved processes and in accordance with established safety, environmental and quality procedures.
You will work with the Team Leader, Works to develop delivery strategy, establish required contracts, monitor finances and associated business processes required to meet the delivery needs.
Whilst this role is primarily based in the Grampians Region, you may be occasionally required to work from other locations across the state of Victoria based on the operational needs of the broader SRS business.
The standard hours for this position are 7.30am to 4.00pm, however you may be required to undertake out of standard hours shifts as part of a regular pattern or roster cycle Saturday, Sunday, Public Holiday, and/or afternoon/night shifts. This may include occasional overnight travel.
After hours Emergency response capabilities and overtime are requirements of this role, and opportunities may be available to travel within the state to assist with broader Emergency responses.

Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will effectively carry out project delivery tasks in line with established policies and Traffic Management Plans, using approved tools and maintaining accurate records. They will apply foundational problem-solving skills by following guidelines or seeking guidance when needed, contribute to continuous improvement through quality-focused innovation, and use relevant policies to guide safe and effective work practices. Additionally, they will support team development by sharing knowledge, seeking to enhance their own capabilities, and providing constructive feedback.

Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
-
- Current licences and tickets in plant operation; traffic management, chainsaw and first aid, construction induction card.
- At least five years’ experience working in a road maintenance, construction or work crew
supervisory role.

- Construction Induction White Card
- Working knowledge of computer tablets / mobile devices.
- Solid administrative and computer skills
Desirable

- Certificate III in Civil Construction
- Understanding of Asset Maintenance Management Systems
- Strong knowledge of the Road Management Plan
- Strong understanding of Maintenance Specification Section 750
