About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists to perform a senior role in a high performing team providing advice on FOI and Privacy matters.
The Office of the General Counsel provides legal and policy advice to the Premier and Ministers supported by the Department of Premier and Cabinet and related agencies.
The Office is seeking a hard-working Senior FOI & Privacy Officer with strong technical, policy and conceptual skills, to be part of a dynamic team.
Reporting to the Manager, FOI & Privacy Team, the Senior FOI & Privacy Officer will:
- have detailed knowledge and demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic) (FOI Act) and the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (PDP Act)
- demonstrate attention to detail and a collegiate approach to work
- have excellent time management skills and an ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- have strong verbal and written communication skills
- have the ability to adapt quickly to a new workplace.
This role is a VPS5 Fixed Term position available until 31 December 2026. This position is only open to applicants with relevant rights to work in Australia.
