What you’ll do
The Director, Agency Performance leads a Branch responsible for:
- Delivering the agency performance function, designed to assess the readiness of VPS agencies to deliver on future public sector requirements and challenges
- Monitoring and reporting on sector performance on integrity, capability, diversity, equity and inclusion and other related obligations
- Advice and sharing of best practice to improve public sector efficiency and effectiveness, integrity and capability.
The role requires a strong passion and commitment for public service and driving capability, professionalism, engagement, and integrity.
This multifaceted role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative executive team and leadership environment.

Selection criteria
You should have:
- Demonstrated experience in policy and strategy development in a government environment
- A strong capacity for critical thinking and problem solving
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, including the capacity to build teams and steward teams through change
- Strong experience in working with senior stakeholders across government and in building constructive, long-term relationships
- Exception written and interpersonal skills
- A relevant tertiary qualification in public policy, public administration or a similar area.
