Multiple exciting leadership opportunities exist across the Social Policy Branches of DPC.
Social Policy groupThe Social Policy Group (SP) provides expert advice to the Premier on education, health, families, fairness and housing, justice, community security and emergency management portfolios. The SP Group also supports the Minister for Multicultural Affairs through the Multicultural Affairs Branch.Directors across Social Policy branches lead and manage teams to provide strategic advice to the Premier, Secretary and senior executives on policy, programs, and issues relating to the relevant branch’s portfolios. You will oversee the delivery of timely, accurate and quality advice to the Secretary of DPC and the Premier reviewing policy proposals, undertaking policy analysis, and assessing the impact of government decisions and actions. Advice can relate to matters of new policy, or assurance around implementation of key government priority initiatives in the portfolio.
About you
As our ideal candidate you will have:Extensive experience and a successful track record in providing authoritative, high quality and timely policy advice and analysis in a dynamic and complex environment.Proven strong verbal and written communication skills communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate effectively at senior levels, and a proven capacity to develop effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams and work across organisations to successfully lead changeA proven track record of successfully managing competing priorities by being flexible and adaptable, to meet deadlines while working in pressured situations.Demonstrated capacity to lead a range of complex projects through partnerships with people across policy and business areas, functions and departments, and deliver timely and high-quality outcomes.
Desirable requirements
Experience in law, public policy or a related field would be advantageous.Appropriate tertiary level qualification is highly desirable.
