The Delivery and Strategy Branch

The Delivery and Strategy Branch tracks and supports delivery of priority government initiatives and works with policy branches to support strategic policy development of cross-portfolio issues.  

The branch comprises the following teams:  

  • Delivery Tracking, which monitors implementation of government priority initiatives and commitments, and supports identification and resolution of risks and blockages. Supports roll-out of platforms to support briefing
  • Strategy, a project-based team that works closely with DPC policy branches and delivery agencies, employing consulting and strategy approaches to resolve priority policy and delivery issues, as commissioned by DPC senior executives or the Premier.  

About the Role

The Delivery and Strategy Branch is seeking to recruit an outstanding, talented and passionate individual to the role of Manager, Delivery Tracking.

The Branch works across government to deliver coordinated reporting and analysis that supports implementation of the government’s agenda.

In this role you will support the branch in its strategic analysis and policy advice, data analysis and visualisation work, stakeholder consultation, assurance and reporting. You will also lead on key strategic projects including incoming government election commitment tracking, and contribute to advice to the Premier, the Secretary and senior executives in the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC). 

You will have the opportunity to work across government to build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders. This role requires a proactive self-starter with a passion for public policy, a good understanding of government processes, innovative thinking, strong networking skills and an ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong policy, analytical and communication skills, and work effectively in a team environment.

Key Selection Criteria

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  1. Demonstrated experience in policy analysis, coordination and assurance processes to support the development, implementation and monitoring of government policies, programs and commitments.
  2. Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver complex projects in a fast-paced government environment, including planning, governance, risk management, stakeholder coordination and the timely delivery of high-quality outcomes.
  3. Highly developed interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships, provide clear and authoritative advice, and work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Strong conceptual, strategic and analytical skills, with demonstrated experience providing authoritative, concise and sensitive policy advice to senior decision-makers.
  5. People management capability, including the ability to lead, support and develop high-performing teams, foster a positive and accountable team culture, and create the conditions for staff to be engaged, productive and effective.

Mandatory requirements

  • Experience in the design, delivery, or assessment of delivery of major projects or programs.
  • A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in a relevant discipline.

This role is a Fixed term, Full-Time position until 30 June 2027. This position is only open to applicants with relevant rights to work in Australia.
