The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) currently have three Chief Financial Officer (CFO) opportunities available at The Department of Health (DH), The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) and The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS).

About the role
Reporting to the Secretary, DTF, we are seeking three highly experienced and visionary Chief Financial Officer's (CFO) to lead the financial management of three Departments within the Victorian Government. As the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial decision-making at both departmental and inter-governmental levels. Your responsibilities will include representing the state's interests as a finance leader for the Victorian Government, ensuring effective budget management, and building a trusted CFO profile. You will foster collaborative relationships with fellow CFOs, senior leaders, and external stakeholders, aligning financial strategies with the Department's objectives.
Additionally, you will uphold compliance with all statutory and professional standards, while providing comprehensive financial guidance to senior staff and Secretaries. Join us in these influential roles and contribute to the financial success of Victoria's public sector.
As Department of Health CFO, you will also oversee the departments procurement framework, activity plan and initiatives. Please refer to the attached position description for Department of Health further details.
About you
CA/CPA qualified with extensive technical, financial and management accounting experience and skills gained from having worked in large, complex, matrix organisations – within government or private sectors. With significant leadership experience, you will build a strong financial team delivering high level output and continuous improvement. You will enjoy complexity and a high-profile executive role that offers experiences to build a pathway to organisational leadership positions. Your superior leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills have enabled you to gain credibility, build high-performing teams and evolve finance and procurement functions with your thought leadership and commitment to fiscal discipline, driving significant costs savings and uplifting capability at a macro and micro level.
