About us
The Essential Services Commission is Victoria’s independent economic regulator of essential services supplied by a range of industries. The commission’s functions include:
- making regulatory decisions with respect to prescribed industries (including price determinations, licensing, customer protection and access disputes).
- undertaking reviews and providing advice to Ministers on a range of economic and regulatory matters.
- administering the Victorian Energy Upgrades program.
About the role
- The role will focus on implementing the commission’s strategy to advance equity for Victorian consumers which is among the Focus Areas for the commission’s 2025-29 Strategic Plan. The role will work across the various divisions of the commission and across its regulated and administered sectors to help deliver a set of priority actions and to inform the commission’s future work program.
- Key capabilities for the role include working collaboratively, strategic planning, problem solving and the ability to communicate with impact.
This is a fixed term position until 30 June 2027. The work location for this position is 570 Bourke Street, Melbourne with some hybrid work arrangements available.
Key accountabilities
- Deliver and implement the updated ‘Getting to Fair’ strategy that fully reflects the priorities and preferences of commission decision makers to advance equitable access and just consumer outcomes.
- Advance internally and externally key concepts, ideas and issues relevant to consumer’s experience of vulnerability and equity.
- Engage internally to support the development of priority activities that appropriately reflect the objectives of the strategy.
- Manage and evolve the ‘Getting to Fair’ program of work to the satisfaction of the line-manager and lead director.
